Finished the matrix trilogy

It’s a bit of a weird one the storyline is all over the place I guess it was deemed a success because of its special fx at the time. I note they are making a 4th film due for release in December without Morpheus which is a bit odd. They are also bringing back Trinity which is even strange given what happened to her in the third film. Overall I was underwhelmed by it.

The first film of the trilogy was a classic imo, years ahead of its time, the other two that followed were poor in comparison.

At least 2 had a banging soundtrack in comparison.

Best thing about the second movie is this tune over the chase scene!

Juno Reactor are on of my favourite all-time music acts. Seem them on stage a few times, got all their albums. One of the strongest discographies in electronic dance musik. They started off in the Goa Trance scene, and became known for their huge cinematic sound. Here's arguably their finest piece, check out that gorgeous build-up...after 6 minutes BLAM it's tribal party time!

Just seen The Courier, a spy fim based on a true story during the cold war, really good film about this Russian fella and a English businessman who smuggled documents out of Russia. The businessman wasnt a spy but a straight forward electrical engineer who MI6 recruited, its a fascinating story during the cold war, i love films like this.

Because it's topical I gave Charlie Wilsons War a rewatch.

Standard Tom Hanks stuff.
Philip Seymour Hoffman is of course wonderful.
Emily Blunt in her undies.

The film was made in 2007 about the US/Saudi funded Mujahadeen defeated the Red Army. The last 5 minute 'lesson' still applies today.

Of course, the warned about next stage of the ancient proverb Gust (Seymour Hoffman) refers to after defeating the Soviet army resulted in the rise of the Taliban in the 90's.

The crazy thing is, in the 12/14 years since it's release, the same mistakes have been repeated. Military spend as opposed to infrastructure.

Worth a watch-ish.
