Last Film You Watched

Watched this last night. Read many articles over the years that he was a egomaniac self-centered ass who was a nightmare to work with for both directors and actors, but this is quite moving and very funny in parts. I always though he was boss as Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone's "The Doors". Christ he looks so ill now though, cancer really hammered him. Witness when he's signing autographs at a London comic-con and starts feeling really ill... difficult to watch that bit. Great documentary though.

No Time to Die, ok ish but not a patch on some of the previous ones. Be interesting where they go next now the Spectre thing has run it’s course, feels like a complete reboot is coming.
Also started watching Many Saints of Newark, tbh had it on in the background but think I’ll start from the beginning and give it my undivided attention as it seems pretty good.

Not wanting to spoil it but I mean surely that is a given…?

There are clear options for continuity in that ‘world’ but I’m not sure they will take them.
If they do reboot it completely I’m interested to see if they retain the actors in their roles, like M, Q and Moneypenny.
I thought it was interesting they showed a scene with portraits of the previous M including Robert Brown, which kind of makes Roger Moore and Daltons, Bonds cannon for these films.
no continuity for James Bond of course, but 007 could continue in that cannon

No time to die was decent and then became a total mishmash:

Ana De Armas was fantastic and you could see her being the 'replacement' for Felix. Set her up nicely to be a permanent fixture.

They also had the 'new' 007 who then relinquished the title for Bond and she (although the character was awful) could be a different 00 in future films.

Telling Bond "you didnt expect the 007 title to be withdrawn" could set it up for them to use the 'James Bond' name as an 'alias' as a 'mark of respect' instead.

So theres 3 initial things which could provide some continuity along with Q and Moneypenny who seem to be boring but actors/characters who could last.

Alternatively of course, M looked to be falling apart throughout the film. Several of the others such as Lea Seydoux's character and everyone from spectre etc are all going to be gone.

So, theres a couple of ways it could go really. I would say the most interesting is to continue the existing story with a replacement using "James Bond' alias and having Ana De Armas as the new Felix.

They just need to replace 'M' and build out a new story which is a good thing for a restart.
