I really enjoyed it @ijjysmith but the 2nd one is better IMO! More wow-factor, the arena is awesome in the 2nd one.

First one is on Netflix so think I'll watch it over the weekend, along with Expendable 2.

Watched Amistad last night. Was alright, bit like Schindlers List but with black people. Bit hammy in bits but not bad.

It's meant to be much better according to someone at work, Arnie and Bruce Willis are both in it a bit more, Chuck Norris as well, you can't go wrong with Chuck Norris in a film.

My mrs dad was doing a load of work on Jason Statham's house in London recently, he's trying to convince me they're now best friends.

Thought the first one was pretty good. It knew it was silly and mindless.

The second tries too hard to be cheesy and just looks stupid.

Rewatched the Avengers last night. Big fan of Marvel comics and Joss Whedon as a director. but it feels a bit hollow. Too Joss, not enough of the personality of the characters comes through. Mark Ruffalo is brilliant in it though, the only version of the Hulk I've ever really got on with.

12 years a slave... got dragged to it by Mrs Degsy, it's my free tickets we see what I want

very good, mans inhumanity to man / never give up

don't go if wall to wall 'N' word offends you.

The Slave owners came across ( some of them ) as knowing it was wrong, but as a group, having painted themselves in a corner economically, had to keep on keeping on due to peer pressure ( and the consequences ) and the threat of losing their income wealth and position. Thus maintaining the 'fiction' that the African slave were not 'real people' thus it didn't matter.

Though some were just out right evil and didn't care a jot
