Last Film You Watched

Watched Coda last night.
Really enjoyed it and appreciate how the film is playing a role in developing a better understanding of the deaf community.

I’ll be honest. I didn’t know it had won the Best Picture until afterwards, so that may have tempered expectations a bit

Rewatched Man From Earth, and it even improves...comfortable 9/10. The kind of film you shouldn't read about or watch trailers before diving in. One for fans of dialogue-heavy philosophical thought experiments.

Seen it a couple times. Good little film, acting is a bit wavey in parts though and wasn't a big fan of the twist.

Still pretty impressive with some clever writing.

aye, tho' there's maybe
still room to interpret it was all a con...the way John casually mentioned that very specific name from his 60's identity was a bit suss. Still, i took it at face value: he really was this fantastical character. The emotional-breakdown acting from the other guy, realising he's seeing his Dad again, was powerful stuff.

Rented that Uncharted on Prime. Absolutely love any film about finding lost treasure or pirates. I mean plot holes galore but it was fun.

Apparently there's a sequel to it too - same lead actor and director tho I haven't heard much about it. Be interesting to see where they went with it but would fear it would repeat itself quite a bit.

5.2 on imdb....yikes. skimmed some of the reviews, lots of disappointed fans of the first one. my experience with imdb scores are unless it's a horror film anything scoring under 6 is likely not worth a go.

i think i'll leave it....

tho' if you brave the waters, report back

How It Ends

Huge unexplained disaster, blah, blah rescue mission road movie. Absolute definition of the undercooked Netflix film and took a critical kicking by the looks of things but I enjoyed it. Gets a bit involved with it's on-the-nose social commentary but keeps moving along at a fair old clip for the most part.

It's by no means good but fine if you like that kind of end of the world societal breakdown thing.

A criminal waste of Forest Whitaker too.

He must`ve been skint at the time.
