The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism (or 'Die Schlangengrube und das Pendel', which I believe is the original title)

Thought it was a really cool film. Always great seeing Christopher Lee, and I quite liked the other actors as well. This being a 1967 film, it's obviously filled with practical effects and locations, which gives it a lot of charm.
I gotta say though, the ending
was a little underwhelming and the way a certain character escaped a killing device
was very silly, but it gave me a good laugh. The film was surprisingly funny, actually.

7/10

Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Can't help but feel something was missing though; could have been a great but was a bit drawn out in places and didn't keep me as engaged as I hoped.

Beautifully filmed though.

Saw the remake/reboot of Firestarter earlier on - very watchable, not too long, and features a stonking John Carpenter score. I know it hasn't been well received, but I've seen far worse Stephen King adaptations.

Brosnan's first film. Interestingly, he never met Hoskins til after the film was finished. The two segments of that scene were shot separately
Haha never knew that

Similarly, I read Jodie foster never met Anthony Hopkins, their scenes were filmed totally separate , and she was just talking to and facing the camera
