Open water would be my pick, unbearably tense at times, The Reef was another good one. Nothing frightens me like a shark film!
The Reef is where the boat capsizes right and they try to swim? Well if you can find it there is an Open Water 2 and they jump off the boat for a swim but don't let down the ladder and can't get back on. Similar sharky fair.

I really enjoyed this, as I love these type of bleak, backwoods, dark crime films :

The Silencing.

A reformed Hunter, who’s daughter has been missing for years, stumbles across a serial killer, who is kidnapping and then hunting young girls, in remote woodland, near to his cabin.

He teams up with the local sherif and chief of the local Native American police force , to hunt the serial killer.

The casting is excellent, particularly , the choice of Anabelle Wallis ( Peaky Blinders ) to play the sheriff.

Dark and brutal, with the use of the desolate landscape used to maximum effect.

Weirdly the critics panned it, but audiences have loved it.

It would make an excellent book too.

It’s on Netflix.
Cheers, enjoyed that.

Was going to watch Blue Thunder last night as per @ste d' indica recommendation but like an idiot looked on Prime (where it's pay to rent) instead of Netflix (where it's included).

As a result I watched C.H.U.D. (1984) instead. Underground monsters eating homeless people back when New York was New York.

Low budget b-movie aesthetics, silly plot, big latex/rubber monsters, practical effects, a couple of early acting jobs for now famous faces and a few more character actors whose face you've seen somewhere but you're not sure where.

A Field In England

Christ, what can I about this film? It's [Poor language removed] brilliant. Completely caught me off guard. Knew nothing about it going into it, saw it was streaming free on YouTube last night.

Really striking visuals and sounds. Slightly off the wall. Trippy.

Hard to pigeon hole this, but if you like dystopia, dark-humour, psychedelia, and a pinch of Monty Python its well worth checking out. Amazing score and acting to boot.

The boat is slowly sinking in The Reef, so all bar one swim in the direction of a reef that's a fair way off, good film and based on a true story (as ever). Not sure if I've seen open water 2, will have a look cheers.

Current Dune remake.

Excellent interpretation. Slowing it down to miniseries length was the right call. Lynch's problem was not creating a movie that crawled straight out of the '80s. It was trying to get it all done in two and a half hours. We probably got Twin Peaks out of that lesson, so I'm not complaining.

Looking forward to seeing this. Will do it proper. Get the kids and wife out the house, then scroll through the transfer thread whilst I'm watching.
