Last Film You Watched

Jaws 2 (1978)

Should probably have posted this before the last one - nevermind.

Regardless of what anyone else says, I like this movie. If course if can't match the magnificence of its predecessor, but there is a lot of good stuff going on in this movie. I really like that it brings Roy Schneider and many of the original cast. There are good elements of suspense as the viewer is shown things which the onscreen characters aren't privvy to, and the pacing and action scenes are well executed.

Probably the 2nd best Shark movie ever made.

7/10
What about Deep Blue Sea?

The one with Samuel L. Jackson… As he describes it: ‘They ate me! A motherf’ing shark ate me!’

One strictly for the sci-fi nerds :

Archive.

An A.I. scientist, is employee to attempt to create robots that have a human conscience, thoughts and emotions, in an off the books attempt to transplant his dead wife’s consciousness into a female A.I.

It’s a real thinking film, shades of Ex Machina and Moon, very slow and requires full attention to understand what’s going on.

There‘s nothing wrong with it, it’s just that despite the massive plot twist at the end, it all feels a bit flat.

It’s on Netflix.

oh yeah! you're right, totally forgot about Open Water... it's absolutely tense as hell. Far superior to The Shallows (which is still decent) and only just behind Jaws. It's the sheer realism that sells it.

so we got:

1. Jaws
2. Open Water
3. The Shallows or Jaws 2

will have to check out The Reef.

If we're also including antagonistic whales then 1956 Moby [Poor language removed] takes top spot lol
Definitely check out the reef if you haven’t seen it. Just like open water, incredibly tense! Right up there for me

Top Gun 1986

Haven't seen it for years , forgotten how cheesy it was ! Still decent though ?

Got my tickets to see Top Gun 2 on Wednesday ?

Are you paying actual money to watch TG2? The first one was bad enough, this just looks like a remake masquerading as a sequel like most things out of Hollywood these days.

Police chief obsessed with ass (they're 'chewin/all over/right up' my ass)

They don't make em like this anymore, with actual live helicopters flying under bridges, and explosions that rain down barbecue chicken, and cast credits like 'thug', 'man in beanie' and 'nudy lucy'.

Modern films are [Poor language removed].

Netflix. Get on it.

I am ! I think the trailer looks alright tbh, plus I haven't been the cinema in ages. I always watch new releases on my firestick, but thought I'd go all out for this one.

I will let you know on Wednesday if I threw my money away
