Fun fact: They approached Mel Gibson to play Danny Glover's partner in Predator 2.

Think they were kind of going for a Lethal Weapon v. Predator vibe.

It would have also had Joe Pesci in it, and the original script had him annoying the Predator so much with his inane chatter, that the Predator would have initiated his self-destruct atom bomb sequence and blown himself up...

Alas, it was ever meant to be, and they had to go with plan b.

Thor: Love and Thunder.

Save yourself a couple of hours, just stay home and listen to Appetite for Destruction from start to finish.

Just caught this at the local cinema. Very generic "paint by numbers" vehicle for Taika Waititi's ego. Not a patch on Ragnarok, which I thought was a very well-executed reboot of the Thor franchise.

Soundtrack was great but other than that, meh. And I say that as someone who will praise Infinity War and Endgame to complete strangers.

Not actually watched this one for beards and while its not a patch on the first, its better than I remembered and does a decent job of expanding the story. I'd totally forgotten Paxton is in it as well. And Adam Baldwin, the Baldwin who isn't a Baldwin.

The Northman

Far from perfect, but I loved the fight scenes. Every sword blow felt like it had weight behind it. Anya Taylor-Joy is an absolute gift. Wish she was on screen more. Skarsgård was also really good here, I thought. 7/10

You inspired me to rewatch it last night.....

Better than I remember, but one thing really annoyed me:

Not one item of clothing owned by Danny Glover fits him, particularly his trousers.

During the abattoir scene they have a close up of his lower leg heading up a ladder or some steps, forget which.

His pants are some kind of towelling fabric and they're at least 8 inches too long for his leg.

Obviously budget for wardrobe wasn't a major consideration.

Good point, althiugh technically, Ripley didn't blow up the atmospheric processor. That was caused by the initial firefight and the subsequent dropship crash which stopped the survivors from being able to shut down the atmospheric processor. The dropship crash being caused by an Alien. So Alien killed Paxton.
