Every now and then a film comes along that just reminds you of all that's possible with the medium. Usually the left fielders are non-US so it was great to see something so way out come from at least near Hollywood.
Bold, disorientating, funny, poignant and two hours of sheer cinematic joy.

Absolutely brilliant.

On Prime.
I'm a very big fan of 'kung fu hustle' because its so funny and inventive, can you compare and contrast? KFH was a real breath of fresh air at the time, something original, even with the tons of nods and winks to previous cinema.

Jurassic Park : Who Cares At This Point
Wow. One of the worst films ever regurgitated by Studio Dinosaurs. So many cringey moments. You’ve all just embarrassed yourselves.

Thor : Love and Blunder
Oh Natalie. Awful. Terrible film. Fun fact : Taika Waititi has a lounge room he makes people set up on the set when he’s filming, and then drag around everywhere. Lemme just say by the end of the shoot crew were ready to make him eat that brown couch.
Was expecting so much more. I really enjoyed ragnarok. Love and thunder might be my least favorite of the entire marvel lineup. Thought it was a train wreck.

Everything Everywhere is a more complex and ambitious film, and where KFH was mainly played for laughs and kinetic fight scenes, this has much more pathos, character and sheer humanity - tonally very different.
Where they are alike is in their ingenuity, compelling narrative and refreshing departure from cinematic norms.

I found it a bit too much at the start (90% of the films i watch are clearly at snail pace lol) but once i got used to it, i loved it.
