Last Film You Watched

OH. HELL. YEAH.

Drops in April, the others follow May and June.
If they'd put them in a box set then maybe.....but I've already got them on Blu-Ray so can't justify the £30 each.

Hopefully a stripped down boxset comes out without all the booklet and various other paraphernalia they stick in there to help justify the price. I bought their recent Demolition Man and while it's great and all I really don't need a few postcards with mediocre print quality and a sticker of the "Life is Hell" graffiti that gets sprayed early in the film.

Love Arrow and what they put out but the boxes are getting bigger and bigger to cram all the completely unnecessary tat in.

Yeah that's fair enough I ain't got em in any HD so it's a no-brainer for me. Not sure about a box set but they usually do a standard 4k after the first run, I picked up their Silence of the Lambs and it was about 8 quid less I think.
And yeah, they're almost getting to VHS size!

Pale Rider (1985)
Could've done without the subplot with the 14 year old girl and her mother both being head over heels in love with Clint Eastwood. Other than that, a good movie. The final showdown was awesome. Gotta love Clint. 7/10

Bend of the River (1952)
A darn fine cowboy road trip movie reminiscent of 1883. Didn't really like it to begin with (as usual the Indian stuff annoy me in these films), but it grew on me as it went along. Especially the second half of the film was very solid. My third James Stewart film, and he's very good in it of course, just like he was in Shenandoah. 7/10

A good variety of baddies. And a warning about environmental harm. Ahead of it's time that one. Some star power him.

Finally watched the French release of Count of Monte Cristo

Excellent but, for me, inferior to American version with Jim Caviezel

Some literary differences in interpretation of source material in both films too

"The French release"

How many releases have their been of The Count of Monte Cristo?

For "The French release" are you talking about the one released last June or one of the others?

Most recent one but yes there are multiple releases over the years - the two most recent are US (2002) and French (2024)

Watched A Real Pain recently. It’s was really nicely paced, excellently written and acted. Wouldn’t be surprised if Kieran Culkin gets the nod for best supporting actor.

Wolf Man or The Wolf Man

Like the Benicio Del Toro/Anthony Hopkins/Hugo weaving one or the new one that came out last year?

The one that came out this year with Ruth from Ozark. You raise a good point though Dylan, has there been a good werewolf film since Dog Soldiers?
