Last Film You Watched

Don't worry darling

first half is pretty good, but second half is so bad that it cancels it out.

I want to like Harry styles but he isn't great at acting. Florence Pugh is great tho, it would have been awful without her

Heard somebody describe Harry Styles as like an American trying to do an impression of somebody who’s British.

I want to like him as well but it’s not clicking for me. It’s all a bit too try hard with him.

First “act” of Barbarian is fantastic, really well made, second half not so good.

My problem with a lot of horror is that the buildup and initial tension is always the best bit, when everything unfolds and the action kicks in you lose that initial sense of fear and dread and it’s no longer scary.

Last film at the Cinema was "The Barbarian" Good film, trailers gave nothing away of what its about, then it went in a direction I didn't see coming.

Last Film watched at home was " Wrong Turn (2021) the writer of the original film reboots his own film, completely changes it to the point it should of been a different film. Good watch give me Midsommar vibes.

Went to see The Banshees of Inisherin.

Absolutely loved it.
Went to see this yesterday. A masterpiece.
Made weirder/more interesting by the fact that I pretty much grew up on Achill Island where most of it was set.
I was home a few years ago and saw them making it, crazy the amount that goes in to making what seems like such a simple film!

Side note. It's also where Kevin Kilbane's family are from.
Darren Fletchers mum lives beside my aunt near that lake in the film!

Think you`re reading Barbarian wrong there.

There`s loads in the second half, that`s black comedy, woven into the main plot.

I agree, there are bits of it that are daft, but I thought it was bonkers and highly entertaining.

Totally agree, the 2021 reboot of Wrong Turn is fantastic and better than the original ( imo )

Another re boot that`s excellent, is the 2006 re boot of the Hills Have Eyes.

Watched All Quiet on the Western Front.

What a brutal film.

I realised watching it that my knowledge of the First World War is lacking, we studied WW2 in school and I just never got round to WW1, I will have to fix that.

There’s a decent doc on Netflix about the origins of WW1.

The long road to war it’s called. Good watch if you want to know more about how it happened. I’m like yourself and currently trying to learn more about it.
