Just finished watching Snatch again great film
Apart from 'Punch Drunk Love', he's really good in that. Although, as Mark Kermode says, that just makes all the other transgressions so much more unforgivable.

I've not seen A Serious Man but i thought Inside Llewyn Davis was wonderful, the characters have little endearing quality's at all, which i thought was quite endearing. It's an odd story, if you can't get past that then maybe stick to hollywood superhero films.
Got it on now actually for the millionth time.
Found a copy of JFK yesterday.......... Great film and great cast.
Seen that Captain Phillips last night. Smashin, really tense. Even though about halfway through I remembered how the situation turned out I was still gripped.

So worked from home a lot this week. Means I get to watch movies. Got 3 in this week. Here goes:
Robocop (2014)
As a huge fan of the original I was very sceptical on this.
But thought the previews looked ok.
And it's just that. It's ok. Not as dark and dirty as the original. Not as violent either. It's almost like a very toned down version. But enjoyable none the less.
As soon as the Robocop anthem hits you get right into it.
The lad who plays Murphy/Cop is good. Keaton is very good. Jackson's character is a little pointless if I'm honest.
Robocop looks beast as black, and the action is top notch.
I'd watch and enjoy a sequel.

Rise Of Planet Of The Apes
(2011)
Meant to catch this when it came out so thanks CartoonHD for getting this.
Yeah pretty good. The whole planet of the apes concept is a little mental for me but I took this for what it was and enjoyed it.
It's got some parts where you just think 'WTF?' but can look past them when it's a film that whole premise is bloody monkeys taking over the planet!
I'd watch the sequel.

I'm just gonna get this out of the way now.
AMAZING SOUNDTRACK
It's all 90's indie stuff like Roses and Soup Dragons. Brilliant.
The actual movie. Not so much.
I had no idea what this was about when I started to watch, so when the thing happened (don't want to spoil) I was a bit bummed as I was enjoying the lads doing their old school pub crawl.
Ah well. Pegg will never beat Spaced or Shaun so really should just stop making films.
Still the soundtrack gets it extra marks.

even though I'm a staunch originals fan, gotta admit Phantom Menace would look boss on IMAX
