Last Film You Watched

Just ranked every Bond film from best to worst. I'll gladly admit that I struggled to remember a few of the somewhat mediocre ones, so I judged them based on my own letterboxd ratings. I'm fairly confident I've got the top 10 and bottom 3 right though.

I used this page to make my ranking: https://sorta.app/q/1043
So which Bond theory do you subscribe to?

A) That each actor is the same person/character ie... James Bond, or

B) That each actor is a new agent being assigned to the code name 007 aka James Bond, with the previous actor/agent being KIA or retired?

I thought this was interesting:

I posted a few months back after binging them all in 2 weeks.

The Daniel Craig films are the only ones that have some sort of cohesive linked up story.

Then again, the original 'Q' was very familiar with Bond in the first Roger Moore outing which suggests it's meant to be the same fella. (as he was with all bonds until he was himself replaced.

I guess the choice of the next bond (a person of colour) or even a lady (Jemima Bond?) would put the debate the bed. (read that last bit in a Roger Moore voice if you like 🤨)

I always just considered them the same person. Well, until Daniel Craig. His Bond just felt so different.

Same here.

But for continuity sake I guess it makes sense for each actor to be a different agent.

Here's a thought: This being the 'woke' age, there's a chance that somewhere down the line the new bond will be a man who identifies as a woman and is in the pre-op sex change operation stage... 🤔

Nothing would surprise me at this point.
Amen to that brother.

And with Disney buying up every franchise that they can get their greedy little paws on, it wouldn't surprise me if in a couple of years from now, they own the whole James Bond franchise.

So a horrific look into the future could be something like: 007 teaming up with the Avengers to save the world. 🙄

*Knock on wood! I'd give up on humanity if this happened.

A trans bond would be bloody brilliant, if only for the anti woke exploding heads.

I think 007 is the identity and just the person changes since James Bond obviously isn’t their real name.

Same way comics do it with multiple Robins etc.
This is the most logical answer in order to keep the franchise going, and for it to make sense.

Obviously this wasn't what Ian Fleming intended with his novels, but if it was the same character, you'd have a bloke staying the same age since the 60's, and unless this is The Simpsons where nobody ages, it doesn't actually make any sense.

"This 40-year old man gets through a lot across multiple decades and still looks so fresh!"

Well, now it would make sense, like in my previous comment if Disney buy the 007 franchise, cross it over with the Marvel universe and have it so 007 gets injected with the same super soldier serum that makes Captain America age slowly. 🤔

Christ, I should be working for Disney with cash cow ideas like these! 😜

Went to see The Equalizer 3 on Tuesday. A marked step up in graphic violence from the previous two, but I really enjoyed it. The moral of the story was easy to follow, basically, don't [Poor language removed] with Denzel. 🤣🤣
