Best horror film Iā€˜ve seen in years :

Talk To Me.

A group of Australian teenagers, start messing around with a relic, that enables them to become briefly possessed by spirits of the undead.

Despite it being low budget, itā€™s incredibly effective, super spooky and creepy, rather than use in your face gore - although there is a fair bit and is really quite unsettling.

The first 40 mins, watches pretty much like a conventional teen horror, but then it goes into overdrive.

Screen Australia rarely seem to miss with the stuff they do.

Mrs Bluerob is looking for something to watch in this genre. Could be our Sunday film

Certainly up there, would like to see The Directors cut of Alien 3 as they reckon its a vast improvement on the original cut
Iā€™d bow down to David Fincherā€™s version being far superior to what a franchise loving, money chasing corporation spewed out. I actually quite liked Alien 3, trying to invoke the shear helplessness of the 1st offering after the impressive ā€œAliensā€

ā€˜The seven upsā€™, A 1973 film with the great Roy scheider. Typical 70ā€™s crime movie, which means it wipes the floor with most dross produced today. Free on YouTube. Also checkout ā€˜blowoutā€™, Brian de palma movie with John travolta. Also free on YouTube.
The Seven-Ups is good if you like that 70's inner city USA crime genre which I do.

It probably falls short of stuff like The French Connection, Bullit and the excellent 'The Friends Of Eddie Coyle' though.

Watched it last night. Really good. Well acted, with some truly scary scenes and an original screen play. The perfect nod to the "teen horror" genre but has more than enough originality be apart from that genre as well.

Next up for me, when I can get the time is "The Lodge"...2019 horror film that slipped under my radar. Trailer looks quite good and I love Riley Keough.
