Yeh I can see why the first might not be for everyone. I think a lot expect a load of action with it being a classic sci-fi flick.

I’m sure a lot of people do, but I love a slow paced sci fi, like Arrival.

But the original Blade Runner just leaves me cold. Know I’m in the minority here. But hey.

Unpopular opinion here, but I’ve never been a fan of the original blade runner. Looks amazing, but so boring. Sorry fans.

I liked the 2049, Denis Villeneuve one though.

I only watched the original when the Final Cut was released so had an idea in my head of what this legendary sci-fi masterpiece was going to be. After my first viewing I felt quite similar to you.

Subsequent rewatches without that false expectation though have solidified it as a bona-fide classic.

Had no expectations at all, and have watched it several times. Still the same response. Great premise, awesome film making, incredible world building. Boring as f&*k.

I’ll watch it again no doubt, and am happy to have my mind changed on it.
