Part way through TFC now, and I am seeing certain shots reminiscent of Dirty Harry. Seems the cinematographers of each shared some taste. Both out 1971.
Fascinating.

It's a belter but grim.

Saw The End We Start From the other day, very muted compared to many other post-apocalyptic films, all plays on that idea of how quickly people will turn on each other if something like that were to happen. That said, Jodie Comer's character and this girl she pretends give great performances as 2 people just trying to make it under awful circumstances.

More of a Film4 watch on a midweek evening rather than going to the pictures though.

Watched the first 10 minutes of Gangs of New York. First watched it years ago and thought it was terrible. Just as bad as I remembered, Scorcese channels Guy Ritchie. Awful. Daniel Day Lewis hams it up. Hugely overrated movie.

It's one I hate.

You could mistake it as a comedy, the scene at the start with the build up to the gang fight. Embarrassing

Diaz looks so old she could be Di Caprio's ma. Make up should have earned 3 oscars each.

How does a studio get a once in a lifetime director and a once in a lifetime actor and produce a ham hock like GoNY. Such a waste.

Emperors new clothes. People are too afraid to give an honest opinion. You are supposed to love it. It’s terrible

You half expect them to break into a song and dance routine lol

Jaws 2 is finishing now, I've never been on the side of a monster more in a film ever. Could have butchered all the whiney kids for my cinema fee. Awful sequel.
