Last Film You Watched

Recently watched the campaign and ghost rider.

Thought the campaign was not as funny as it would have been 10 years ago. Will ferrel seems to be a one hit pony with comedy.

always like watchingghost rider tthough

I was going to say the exact same about SLP but could not be bothered editing it.

I think his best role is in Cape Fear, he's superb in that, and he's good in Heat aswell.

I think his best performance was probably Raging Bull closely followed by Taxi Driver,

He is great in Cape Fear, but I always preferred Mitchum's Max Cady

Ghost rider has Nicholas cage in it, will never ever watch that movie as well. Cage has been boycotted since i watched " The Weather Man "

Good shouts, he was good wasn't he in the 80's and early 90's.

Shame he agrees to do very suspect films these days, apparently he owns loads of property in New York, he's not hurting for money that's for sure, he should take a leaf out of Day Lewis's book.

I can watch Face off and the Rock, that was before he was added onto the list. The Weatherman, truly awful film. Michael Caine was nearly boycotted because of that movie as well, let him off with a caution.
The Rock... absolutely love that film. One of my favourite actioners of all time.

Matchstick Men is really good to imo, afairc Cage doesn't go too over the top in that one. The Rock is great, always makes me think of Con Air tho, another great action film :)

Scarface, the 1932 Howard Hawkes version. Good, suits and cars and molls and Tommy guns, probably pretty harcore in it's day. Bit xenophobic though, mind you, you could make that argument against a lot of US gangsters flicks I suppose.

Ooo, never seen the 1932 one.

Worth watching, or as with a lot of old movies is it quite hard going?

Well it's only an hour and a half long like, so it's a short one, but I know what you mean. It's definitely interesting as there's a lot of DNA in there, obviously for the 80s version, but I could see influences on Scorsese, there's a few good one liners too. As with a lot of 30s films the acting is a bit theatrical, and pace and editing is very different from what we've become used to. Definitely worth a look if your interested in the history of American crime cinema, but doesn't hold up as well as White Heat.
