Well it's only an hour and a half long like, so it's a short one, but I know what you mean. It's definitely interesting as there's a lot of DNA in there, obviously for the 80s version, but I could see influences on Scorsese, there's a few good one liners too. As with a lot of 30s films the acting is a bit theatrical, and pace and editing is very different from what we've become used to. Definitely worth a look if your interested in the history of American crime cinema, but doesn't hold up as well as White Heat.
I might well give that a look actually. Nice one.
