Has anyone seen The Kitchen on Netflix? It contains ex-Arsenal, flat-cap wearer Ian Wright and appears to be about council estate oiks in 2044 London.

I’ll probably give it a crack tomorrow evening.
I have and found it quite boring. It keeps on teasing something interesting is going to happen but then it just never really does. Quite fun having Ian Wright in there just for how random it is. He does a pretty good job too.

Black Panther 2. Absolute nonsense obviously although not as narratively chaotic as the first one. Some quite dodgy acting as well, and it could easily lose the best part of an hour. Looks very good to be fair, and it does honour Chadwick Boseman's memory with sensitivity.
I've never been the biggest fan and they do still pull out the odd one that's good fun but the MCU really feels like it's on its last legs.

Holy smokes! 'scream' (2022) makes 'MI2' look like the baby of 'Casablanca' and 'Citizen Kane'. Tomatoes has it down as fresh as well. How'd you chuck something this terrible together. Incredible. Zero maniac slasher murderers out of ten.

I watched it last night, based on the reasonable reviews.

There was nothing fresh about it.

It was an absolute pile of steaming dung and nothing more that a payday for the likes of Courtney Cox.

* There`s a very promising sounding film on BBC2 10pm tonight - Aftersun

Everyone in it got stuck more times that Betsy Ross' pin cushion. And 90% of these multiple lacerated individuals just kept on running around like nothing had happened. And the 'baddies' such as they were, got finished off more times than Michael Myers.

Shot across the bow, 'Aftersun' seems to come across as a bit of a weepy. And I'm not sure I'll have the strength, it doesn't help that the only Total recall starts an hour before on itv4 and handily back to backs with the super advert game.

Aftersun is really excellent, quite heavy going mind you.

Shaun of the dead for the umpteenth time on ITV 4 last night can't believe it's 20 years old this year

How's that for a slice of fried gold.
I had a mad thought about cinema and the relentless march of time this week.
So, Blazing Saddles is 50 years old this year. So I got to thinking about what films would have been 50 years old when it came out.
In 1924, Fritz Lang's Metropolis was still 3 years away :Blink:

I suppose it's difficult comparing eras, silent, to talkies to colour. Maybe a 20 or 25 year hop skip n jump?
