Last Film You Watched

Yeah, the more I think about the movie, the more I feel like 7/10 was a bit harsh. The ending was memorable to say the least! I love how these films from the 50s look way better than most films made today when it comes to both practical effects (like real arrows being used) and cinematography. Kurosawa truly was a master.

One of the crazy things about him is that his early films - from about Drunken Angel to Red Beard don’t look that aged even though they are in black and white, they are all so lively you just don’t notice it. Yojimbo is to me one of the greatest films ever made, there’s not a second wasted.

The House That Dripped Blood (1971)
This might just be my favorite anthology film I've seen. Every short story was enjoyable, with great performances by the same old cast (Cushing, Lee, Ingrid Pitt and a few I don't know the names of). Very good. It even had a child actress in a big role that didn't annoy! Christopher Lee sitting there in 1971 reading The Lord of the Rings is brilliant as well. 7/10

Reminds me of Friday nights in the 70's, they always used to show a Horror film and my Mom let me stay up and watch it. Can remember this one and The Pit and The Pendulum, The Incredible Shrinking Man, Scream and Scream Again and my fave Invasion of the Body Snatchers

I’m a really big fan of The Gray Man, watch it all the time, love most things Gosling is in, but do they not realise the massive plot hole at the end of the film when he goes on the run with a literal walking GPS in that little girl???

Just got back from Dune 2 and I think this brilliantly sums it up.

I’ll just add, much darker than the first and a couple of flat spots with the romance between Paul and Chani, but another instant sci-fi classic film.

The sets, the cinematography, the battle scenes and in particular the scenes where the Fremmen ride the sand worms, just off the scale.

I’ll rewatch at the first opportunity and really study it this time.

Beautifully set up for the third.
I just watched this. Thought the chemistry between the leads was very good tbh. Whole thing was amazing but if I had to criticise think it all kinda ends pretty quick.
Think Rebecca Ferguson was outstanding.

'Skyfall' 9pm if you missed it the other night itv4
'John wick 3 parasol or similar' 9pm film4
'Planes, trains and automobiles' on late after John Wick, 11:35pm film4, last call for all you late night boozers.
'Rocky ii' itv1 11:15pm

pretty poor fare really considering '48hours' and 'chopper' were on last night.

I gave this a watch again recently... Hadn't seen it in yonks:

It was filmed 30 years ago.

To go from acting as an incoherent, insane caveman to an Oscar winning performance in The Whale is some feat by Fraser!

Meanwhile, from what I can tell, Pauly Shore is still flogging 'The Weasel' bit.
Aggggg, it's still funny... Kinda. 🤷‍♂️

No weezing the juice!!!

OK, thanks. Will add it to the list.
And you must watch the original AND read the book to achieve the full 'Dune' experience.

You need to understand how the author and 2 directors each had opposing opinions on the themes and... Only kidding mate! :p

I`d have said under normal circumstances that Walken would`ve been perfect, as he just oozes murderous menace, but he`s sadly too old now.

Hopkins is too theatrical, I`d have gone for someone like Mads Miikkleson.

John Malkovich?

Even in real life he scares me...
