Dune 2. Avoided this thread when it first came out.
IMAX - Magnificent.

I’m intrigued as to how far this franchise will go though as some of the later and weird/strange concepts in the books cannot possibly transmit onto film.

I’m not sure that using just a sweeping camera action will make a toddler talking like Emmanuel Kant more believable.
There is some very weird fare coming if they stick to the books that will have to be CGI and I’m not sure it will look anything other than ridiculous. I obviously hope it doesn’t as the first 2 films have been excellent and visually stunning.
I’m holding out for John Woo personally as slow motion action beats camera sweep

Watched a great docu/film on Netflix yesterday …. But can’t recall what it was called.. Race to the summit … or something, about 2 of the worlds best speed freeclimbers…. Things they were doing are beyond belief …. The north face of the Eiger in under 3 hours !! Worth a watch if you like this kind of thing

No, although I’ve seen that too. The one I watched was about 2 climbers, one Dani Arnold I think … can’t remember the other blokes name.. Steik or something. The alpinist, free solo and a couple of others I’ve watched are all brilliant too.
