Blacula - 1972 Blaxploitation take on Dracula, pretty terrible, although it does knock another title off my list of the worst films ever made that I'm slowly working my way through.
Hoping for better from the sequel: Scream Blacula, Scream. Pam Grier's in it.

Very sad, that bit. I watched Alien on Film 4 Monday night, followed by Aliens last night. Alien is better, I think. Spent a lot of it worrying about Jones the cat even though I've seen it loads of times before. I think I'm getting old, I much prefer the look of films back then. The colours are far more atmospheric and the model ships and costumes look great. CGI always looks out of place, just glossy and devoid of texture.

There's a film called Audition tonight late on Film 4. Regularly makes some peoples lists of most disturbing films ever but think it's a great little horror film that's worth a watch if you're into Japanese horror films.

Yes mate. There's one scene at the end that's questionable but not sure why it's seen by some as disturbing. It's hardly a Serbian film.

O'Horten.

Its Norwegian. Bit odd but enjoyable, just don't expect fast-paced action! Nothing too much happens. This director always focuses on characters who are somewhat lonely and tells a story. This one is about a train driver who is retiring and decides to try some new things when he finds he is all on his own.

Watched an odd one last night, "Another Earth". Indie/Sci-Fi, a mirror image of Earth appears in the sky and the film plays out as a cause and effect story through a tragedy and its fragile and stormy reconciliation. Interesting film that doesn't always work; the storyline itself was strong enough, I felt, not to need the Sci-Fi duplicate Earth MacGuffin.

Saw this years ago. Don't watch it when you're tired tho, as it's a real slow burner with not a lot happening for a long time, then all of a sudden goes nuts at the end!
