Such a classic film. And you’re right. Spoof films aren’t anywhere. Or films like Holy Grail. Seems like young people just don’t have that same appreciation for that genre.
Might do the Hot Shots/Naked Gun movies soon, too.I am serious. And don’t call me Shirley.

Planes can't fly backwards.Think there were some absolute abominations that ended the genre. Stuff like Meet the Spartans, Epic Movie and Vampires Suck just killed em off like George Clooney and nipples did to Batman.
Basically, we need Nolan to give us his Airplane.
Airplane is a parody of the flight disaster movies of the 50's? Is 'My Cousin Vinny' a parody of the legal genre? The 'Naked gun' an extension of the tv show which parodied the cops shows and films of the 60's?

I've not watched it, rdj I find gratingly insufferable. His comments re his good buddy and long time pal gibson probably finished him off for me.Tropic Thunder is up there too as one of the all time great spoofs.

I'm not over the moon with stiller or cruise either. Also Jack Black has become a parody of himself as well, talk about a one note bum.Put that to one side, he’s brilliant in it.
Tiring. There's a few clowns gone that way. Steve Martin used to be funny, and then when realising he was spent had the good grace to drop off the face of the earth. That allowed his body of work to be remembered and enjoyed instead of sullied.Definitely agree with you about Jack Black. Early on, sure. But now he’s sort of the same hot mess in everything he does, be it music, films, or an interview.
Jim Carrey’s another one like that for me. As a stand-up and In living Color (or Colour if you willTiring. There's a few clowns gone that way.
