Last Film You Watched

Finally watched the French release of Count of Monte Cristo

Excellent but, for me, inferior to American version with Jim Caviezel

Some literary differences in interpretation of source material in both films too

I’ve watched a few commentary tracks on movies I’ve seen a lot of times. I find them (usually) quite interesting. But why John Carpenter on Rio Bravo? I can’t say I’ve ever watched one with someone talking over it that doesn’t have anything to do with the movie in question.

There's a few shorter youtube videos where Carpenter talks about the movie. He watched it as a youngster and it had a big impression on him. His film "Attack on precinct 13" is also pretty much a rip-off of Rio Bravo, according to Carpenter himself!

9pm LEGEND XTRA (freeview 69)

I haven't seen this. Supposed to be alright.

I'm not sure how or why I keep doing it but I keep finding TLGF reviews, comparisons, then & now's and essays. This one has put me onto so other similar minded productions.

Makes a good point about meat being a motif throughout. I'd also forgotten it was titled 'the Paddy factor' initially. Different times.
