Watched a British film called Starred up and wow what a film a very gritty film. Non stop action. Best film I've seen this year

A certain Aussie Co-Star/Director is currently doing a little wick dipping on this one. Didn't hear it from me, mind.

New Jack City. Dated now unfortunately. Mario Van Peebles doing his best impression of an actor who cares, Chris Rock doing what he used to do best, Wesley in all his baggy pomp, Judd Nelson showing us how not to hold a gun in action scenes and Ice T looking like Ice T, and not a middle aged Imposter controlled by his pneumatic woman.

Predator II. Danny Glover was never going to be a solo action headliner but he gives it a red hot go here. There's not much to like about this film when looking at it next to Arnie's effort. For me though, the opening scene with it's L.A. gun battle set piece is brilliantly designed. Anyone remember films shot in and LA used to have this warmed out sunset vibe? Your Lethal Weapons, your Blood In, Blood Out's. The whole Michael Mann thing. They don't really do that anymore.
