Do you honestly believe that Tom Hardy and Christian Bale are worse actors than Tom Hanks? If so, thats frankly bizarre.

Does everything have to be a competition? Really, how do you define who is the 'better' actor? Is it Academy Awards? Hanks has both beaten soundly there. Other awards? Again, Hanks has that one wrapped up.

I think that once you reach a certain level, it all becomes a bit fuzzy. All three of them have made some excellent movies that I have very much enjoyed.

What is frankly bizarre, is turning everything into a competition, where anyone who disagree's with your personal opinion is 'wrong'.

He has played a range of characters, as in Forrest Gump or Philadelphia.
His voice however, doesn't have that range. Most actors are the same.
He's a decent actor who, because he can pick and choose, gets good roles.

Look at the range of roles both Hardy and Bale have taken on, massively diverse and roundly praised.

Theyve also undergone insane body transformations for key roles.

Hanks simply trots out his lines and performs in his usual manner in every single.movie...he's an American audience favourite and a 'bankable' actor.

Perhaps ive missed roles where he shows his range, although i have had the misfortune of watching both Forrest Gump and most recently a hologram for the king.

He plays an everyday bloke whose suffered some personal disaster in every movie.

His facial expressions and voice (agreed) are the same in each movie.

I honestly dont see how hes become a major star...

The misfortune of watching Forrest Gump??? Dear lord.

That doesn't make a good actor. And are you overlooking the large weight loss of Hanks for Castaway? And Philadelphia?
 
I boycott Tom Hanks movies, think Big is one of the last ones of his I've seen. I got tricked a few years back to watch a movie with him and Sandra Bullock in about 9/11

I fumed, because I boycott her movies as well. The movie was awful, I've proved myself right.

I've never seen shawshank redemption even though people tell me it's brilliant. I boycott Tim Robbins movies as well.

Honestly Forrest Gump...thats the only thing ive seen him in where hes taken on a different role.

Havent seen philadelphia, castaway he played his usual "average guy with a problem to overcome"...Wilson was phenomenal mind you.

Look at Hardy and Bale, every part is different and they bring different characters to life.

Tim Robbins is another, his range depends on how wide he opens his eyes.
