It felt like a rip off of The Thing too.
Imagine being stupid enough to end up being talked into combining the follow up film to Alien, Aliens, Predator and Predator 2. The first three are masterpieces in their own right, and the much weaker though still fun fourth on the list is the reason it was possible anyway. On a hiding to nothing before he'd even started. That's no excuse for the lack of common sense though. Also did very little with Lance Henriksen, who is easily the most interesting character to invest in with Weyland Yutani corp to explore.

You’re spot on about Henriksen and I’m really surprised they didn’t do more with him, as he’s a very good actor given the right role.

Went a bit leftfield last night and out of curiosity and never having watched one, went to see an Indian film, which has really good reviews - Amaran.

Biographical action film, which followed the life of one of India’s most decorated officers - Major Mukund and his elite regiment.

The battle sequences where on a par with anything I’ve ever seen, but the romantic scenes where just bonkers and there were a lot of them !

I’ve no idea how the Bollywood films are put together, but I’m assuming that the intertwining of the romantic scenes, with the main story is part and parcel of the way the films are put together.

All in all an enjoyable film, that was very watchable, despite the mad romantic stuff.
Sounds about right for a Bollywood action movie. Check out Jawan, and RRR is supposed to be amazing, though I haven't seen it yet.
Venom Last Dance

Just exactly what you expect from a venom film if you have seen the first two, it's just more of the same.

7/10
I thought the first two were better. Not enough of the Hardy/Venom dynamic in this one, which was always the best thing about the films.

Black cab, listed as a horror/ghost story, but more of a psychological thriller, Nick Frost is really good playing the crazy taxi driver it's not a great film but worth it to see him playing a more serious role

premier, Film4 Thursday night. 9pm.
Thursday November 21st. Sorry.

Things Will Be Different.

A brither and sister have robbed some money and lay low in an alternate dimension where time is effectively stopped. Interesting premise. Reading the plot I guessed that Benson and Moorhouse were somewhat involved even though they didn't direct. I liked the lead performances, particularly the girl who played Sid, but in the end, I just didn't understand it. I generally don't like time travel as a plot device unless it's a closed loop. I think this was supposed to be that, but it didn't stick the landing. It was alright, the director didn't need to explain everything, but felt he at least needed to explain more
