Joker: Folie à Deux - Not the outrageous catastrophe that some are making it out to be nor the arthouse about turn other's have claimed it to be. Just seems like a slightly heavy-going response to the negativity poured on aspects of the first Joker with the abandoned idea of a Broadway show influencing matters. The rug-pull morality might work a bit better if the first film wasn't written as a standalone piece.

A lot of good stuff in it though - Leigh Gill (Gary Puddles) absolutely steals the show in the few minutes he's onscreen.

Ready Or Not - Girl meets boy, gets married then plays murderous hide and seek with her Satanic cult in-laws. Just the right amount of pacing, comedy, silliness and gore made all the better by the fact that Samara Weaving can give a really good scream queen scream.

Gladiator 2.

The first word that sprung to mind when leaving was “ disappointing “.

The opening hour is all over the place, Paul Mescal plays the lead as though he’s on stage and not film.

Even if you watched it, trying not to compare it to the original, it’s impossible, due to the frequent references to the original all the way through the film.

It’s not a bad film, just not as good as it could’ve been.
Think you’ve nailed it there. I think Mescal was miscast.

The word 'meh' was made for this film. Quite enjoyed it but nowhere near as good as the first film. Plot was frankly ridiculous and I actually thought the CGI was worse than original

This mate. Probably being a bit harsh calling it crap, I just expected it to be better than it was.

Well, at least Patrick Stewart has a sense of humour about it.

In an interview, he once said that for a brief period, he gave acting lessons at a college, and his students used to call him 'Professor X.'. The interviewer asked, 'Was that because of your role in the X-Men movies?', to which he responded, 'No! It was because I used to try and sell them ecstasy pills in the parking lot after each lesson!' 😂😂
Say what you want about old Pat, but he's actually a funny SOB!

Well, this is disappointing. Been looking forward to this film.
Denzel couldn't even save it? It's been a while since I've seen a movie flop with him in it.

He usually brings his A game.

So then, it's safe to say that you weren't?

It’s still a spectacle and entertaining, it’s just that they’ve got the lead wrong ( imo ) and the first hour feels very disjointed.

I was going to watch it anyway...

As long as my main man Pedro Pascal owns it. The muchacho needs more premium roles.

I've been keeping an eye on his career ever since someone told me that our voices sound similar. 😜

Gladiator 2. It was ok, made better by seeing it on IMAX. More of a spectacle than a film. Almost everyone is over acting, especially the twin Emperors.

On Mescal, I don’t think he was necessarily miscast @COYBL25, I just think the character is poorly written. He’s all over the shop. Obviously just my opinion but that’s what I took from it.

Also agree with you that Pedro and Connie Neilsen were the best things about it.

Not sure it’s something I’ll bother watching again whereas with the original I’ll watch it again every now and then when it pops up on TV and still massively enjoy it.

I’m the same with the original, never get bored with it and the moment I see that hand brushing the corn at the end, still gets me every time.

I gave this a watch as well recently:

And I'm about 85% sure that originally, this is how Jane Austen would have wanted her novel to have been like. 🤔
