Last Film You Watched

Probably my favourite film.

So many great things about it.

The scene you mention, the chemistry between slater and arquette, Brad Pitt playing the best stoner character of all time, Gandolfini showing the first glimpses of Tony soprano, the monologue at the end.

Just perfect.

You forgot Patrica Arquette, as Alabama Whirley.

No one else could`ve played that part like her.

The scene where she explodes from being, a sweet and dopey young woman, into a rage filled killer, is just spellbinding.

It`s a film, that took a long time to be truly appreciated for how good it really is - the casting, the writing, the iconic scenes and characters.

It`s Tarantino at his absolute peak.

Tony Scott deserves a lot of credit for the direction too imo.

Patricia Arquette did an amazing job in that role and aside from being insanely hot provides one of the most complete characters across all of his films.

Full Metal Jacket.

Some amazing scenes / lines but another example of Kubrick being so good with music. The opening pre boot camp soundtracked by the twee innocence of Hello Vietnam by Johnny Wright. The bouncy rhythm of adventure in These Boots Are Made for Walking by Nancy Sinatra as we join Joker in Vietnam and the titles rolling over Paint it Black by the Stones.

Masterful film making.

I used to work in video editing in another career and was always told that sound is 50% of the picture. How true it is.
