The headline of the Times article on which all of this speculation is based is as follows:

Everton in £200m US takeover

The articles talk about investment, it's very difficult to buy all the shares in Everton. I just think it's interesting of course no one knows for certain, can't help but have the feeling of not liking this overall.

And

We will never get rid of Howard.

The number of big monied owners in the league now means no buyer could guarantee us success on the pitch. We'd have needed to find that owner 10/15 years ago for that. So in all likelihood they're gonna be in for the profit. I think the best we can hope for is a mutually beneficial situation really.

It feels like this should be great news, yet it's somehow a bit...meh.

Non that I can see, except bigger sums of money are now involved.

I'd appreciate someone who can fully understand the financial gobbledegook breaking it down into something that could be easily understood tbh.

It's a gamble, but apparently he has protected us from bad people, so if these American geezers mess us about and cock up, Bill will buy us back on the cheap.

People are thinking this Moore fella is only in it for the money, but the so called biggest blue is potentially selling it to him for nigh on 1000% profit without putting a penny in.

What's the difference??

None. The notion that a significant stockholder of a club would put the welfare of the club above his/her own financial goals is embarrassingly naive. And clubs like Chelsea only benefit from Abramovich's vanity because it just so happens that his goals and those of the club's supporters are temporarily aligned.

They don't need all the shares to assume control, buy Kenwrights and Earls and they'd have a majority.
