Tell you what Everton is really taking its's toll on Elstone!!

Either than or this takeover business is keeping him up all hours!

Would clubs normally put a hold on transfers if they are in the process of DD or being taken over?

Or have i been playing too much footy manager over the years and gone through too many transfer embargo's for my own good.

My guess is that any prospective owners would have been told about any plans to spend money in January, and they'd have indicated the maximum extra outflow of cash ( both in transfers and wages ) they'd have been comfortable with.

So we are to assume now that with the likelihood of the DD exclusivity period having ended, other interested consortiums will be in touch with the Club once again, looking to strengthen their offers possibly in an attempt to purchase.

Have the club made any public reference to this? I'd imagine if they have a statement of some kind would be in order.

The club have said nothing mate.

If it falls through, then I doubt they'll be able to say anything over and above something like "A party expressed interest in taking over the club but, unfortunately, an agreement wasn't reached and we're not able to comment beyong that"... if that even.

That might seem wrong, but that's how non-disclosure agreements work. It's just the way of the world so there'd be no point in fuming about it if it ends up like that.

My guess that what we do with OUR money as a club, has nothing to do with anybody else.

Not being funny here, just cant see what its got to do with "potential" new owners.

They're likely to have forecast a budget both in terms of transfer fees and wages, any deviation outside of the "budget" would probably need an explanation or notification at least. The decision lies with the club, but any buyer would reserve the right to alter a bid value based on unexpected transfer activity.
