Having had time to reflect, I think its obvious now that the club are in dialogue with a number of parties & I believe that the Head of Terms being signed is a huge sign that both feel confident in getting this across the table. Also, granting the exclusitivity for 6 weeks as well. Id be amazed if penalty clauses are not inserted into that.
I understand the 'scary' nature of this talk; we wait patiently for a decade or more for this to come to light and when it appears to do so, it becomes scary. Its change; simple as that. As a football club, we will never go not exist in some shape or form, no matter what life throws at the club. We will never lose the fans, the passion & the affection we have for the greatest club in the world.
I voted yes; I think as a club we have been stagnating for many a year and we really dont have any proper prospects with the current board in place its painfully obvious. We need capital investment, we need liquidity & increased cash flow. All three things I dont believe the current board could deliver.
I think we need change no two ways about it..we as fans need hope that we can push on, players too need to know the club is going forward. Change like this can give us this. It can revatilise the club, the fan base and more importantly, the perception of the club. Perception is key to a lot within the football world; financiers, players, managers, pundits...perception is huge.
I have all my fingers and toes crossed this goes over the line because I am sick of seeing this club, slowly by slowly, lose any chance they have of progressing. How can we be in a position with the squad we currently are building and the tv revenue coming in where we know we will probably have to sell to balance the books. Its unacceptable and wont change unless something major changes, like this takeover.
I think we should all respect the process as I think it will be further down the line than were led to believe and I think we all need to trust the outcome, should it be we have new owners.
My take on it is this; we will get taken over by these guys, they will work alongside the council & help deliver a new stadium and will soon sell up again after that, for a large profit due to increased value of the club.
If it comes off I'd say this would be the reality of it. There's been a few PL and Championship teams with more than one takeover in fairly quick succession. My take on it is this; we will get taken over by these guys, they will work alongside the council & help deliver a new stadium and will soon sell up again after that, for a large profit due to increased value of the club.

I think most people (two-thirds in this poll) are rightly cautious. These people dont appear to be the safe pair of hands we've been promised the club would be handed to all these years.
Would this takeover mean 100% new stadium?
What kind of time frame are you talking about here mate? If it would go like that..
His history with the Padres is certainly not as poor as some have made out, and I don't think he'd be in it for the long term like he was with them. It's all guesswork at this stage, but with all the money floating about, the likeliest scenario is he comes in for as long as it takes to build the new stadium, beefs the team up to genuine top 4 challengers, then flog us to the highest bidder once we've become even more marketable.
I'd say that arrangement works nicely for both parties.
