While redevelopment would be great, I don't think anyone is going down that route.

I think if we're taken over, especially by Moores and Noell, they'll find a space where they throw retail and all sorts nearby too, kind of like buying land and selling off spaces to shops and restaurants etc to recoup a bit (tiny amount maybe but still) of dough on their outlay.

Similar to what surrounds the Reebok/Macron whatever Bolton's ground is called now, but modernised and not out of the early 2000's.

I posted yesterday about our possible new owners not having any allegiance to Goodison and may be open to moving away from the area altogether.
I wasn't really thinking of them moving to a different part of the country altogether. I was wondering about a possible green field site on the periphery of Liverpool. I was wondering if there are any areas , accessible by motorways where a stadium could be built on a green field site or a brown field site if it were available. I would think within a ten or fifteen mile distance from Goodison.

People have muttered about Speke in the past.

The Kirkby site has been sold I think, Tesco got out but it doesn't have the transport links.

Sure last year or maybe two ago Liverpool Council drew up 30/40 Green Field sites for development but with the requirement that residents say yes to the plans.

If you look at what these Yanks have done in San Diego, it looks like they pefer the downtown model which has been popular in the last 20 years or so in the US as opposed to the discredited notion of moving out by the freeway as was the case in the 60's and 70's for ballparks and stadiums in the States. Expect us to be moving closer to the city centre, docklands I suspect, not further out. All IMHO, of course.
