so what you're saying is.. We should try and finish as high up in the league as possible?

That Sir, is a bold new way of thinking.
Well done, have a biscuit.

Next season. When we have another ripper of a season and all luck goes our way and we finish 5th, it will be worth at least 20m more than our current table position. We are timing our good season for next season brilliantly....

Most of it will go to the players, but not for all clubs. CBA looking up Bournemouth's historical turnover, but I'm guessing £99M from TV next years is 5-10x their turnover 3 years ago. Even EFC had a turnover of £86M in 2013--they'd get 50% more from TV alone in 16/17 for finishing ~8. EFC could legimately double turnover in 4 years from this. I think we'll see at least one club "do a Leeds" in the next few years, even without a decrease in TV money.

Wait till they try to buy an average striker in the summer. Assuming they stay up.

It isnt, cos everyone has won the jackpot. Average players will cost more, and be paid more.

The better players will still migrate to either the top clubs, (trophy wise), or the cash titans like PSG, China, MLS.

Was ever the case.

And one day, the TV cash will go down.
This is why we need to make hay while the sun shines. Invest in infrastructure and marketing while we have the money to and then when the bubble bursts we'll be in a better place than where we started. We need to work towards building income outside of TV money and becoming less reliant on the payments from sky and BT.

Yep.

now if only we had a board that thought like that and not what was in it for them personally.....

anybody heard of such a thing?

I 100 percent agree with the debt being paid off... if evertom came out and said look. Were not going to sell anyone we might bring in one player and maybe a few in on loan but the money will be used to pay off outstanding debt resulting in millions being saved in the long run I would happily accept that.

Exactly what Arsenal have done. Emirates is all but paid for

Agree to an extent but would you believe the word of this board , i wouldnt.

Aston Villa is by far the biggest candidate to do this. Doomed to go down, not many good assets, disinterested owner who has wanted to sell for awhile. Everton is a distant, distant second. (Fulham sort of did it already but they don't have enough history to do a proper Leeds.)

I read somewhere today that Texeira ( spelling?) that the RS wanted has chosen a Chinese side instead for £200,000 a week net

Yeah they announced him yesterday I think. Signed a 4 year deal with some Chinese team. That league has already outspent the premier league and they've got about a month of their window left.
