Based on previous experience you always expect something like this to be a disaster when Everton are involved - but surely somebody competent has assessed the proposed business plan??

......or simply quantified how much money they'll make. Interesting the Echo confirms Chinese interest and says that will only be pursued if there's a 'bump in the road'. I presume that phrase means offering stakeholders a bigger return. The Chinese interest might be Maverick but it could also be attractive even if it appears unlikely to happen at this stage.

Sustainable business model vs dodgy investment from an economy built on smoke and mirrors.

Delighted

I wouldn't call fabricated and unsustainable GDP growth "smoke and mirrors," but maybe these Chinese could look for an empty stadium somewhere and transport it to L4 to save on the cost of rebuilding Goodison.

Chinese investment in football is never sustained, it is a horrible model

With the exception of Guangzhou, no other side sustains its investment properly. Boom and bust.

Going with chinese would be short term gain for long term misery

Politely disagree.
Short term gain = long term gain in football .

New fans. New investment. New sponsorship. Trophies. Trickle effect.
