Buying EFC surely only makes sense from a supporter's viewpoint if the purchaser is a fan or it is a vanity purchase by a billionaire.

What we don't need is another chancer like Kenright who has limited or no funds. The buyer has to be well-off enough to ensure that asset-stripping by flogging our best players or loading the club with debt like the Glaziers are not options.

Loving this, people want BK out but at the same time don't want these yanks !

Priceless Kipper - sorry GoT.
Not sure it's that, tbh. We all want new ownership/investment. But there's no hard information yet about what the intentions of these people are, or whether they're the best option for the club given that there appears to be other suitors.

We need a leap forward, but not a leap into the dark.

Isn't that a very short sighted look at it?

Lots of people don't like Kenwright. Fine.

But the next move is someone we may well be stuck with for a good long while. It's wise to be cautious about it. You don't have to accept this as good just because. It might be of course but equally could go tits up.

Who ever takes over,if and when it happens, there will always be people who are scared of who is taking over as we dont know to much of them, will they be right/wrong and so on etc,you never know what people are like till they are actually settled in,despite what you might think of them

Was the same thing said about kenwright when he took control,[was he good etc] before he was in charge -i cant remember, just remember it comming right from no were i think

I'll be honest it's to late and I'm to pissed to remember what's been going on for the last few days.
Now I know how Chngy Elephant feels everyday!

So I'm just going to trust the board and owners who've steered us well through stormy climes and wait to see the final outcome.
Not only where you pissed writing this you developed amnesia. Steered us well through stormy climes o_O, I'd say your up there with the best wind up merchants on here lad, but the sad thing is I think you actually believe it.

I don't know if it is really. I am of the " be careful what you wish for" school of thought - I was just observing that the BK out brigade seem to be quite vocal about this shower. I don't know enough of them to formulate a proper opinion so I cant really comment - I also am on the fence with regards BK as he has done some good in his tenure. His health my expedite his decision to move though.

Couldn't agree more. I find the whole fickle nature of the football fan (not just Evertonians) quite amusing !

They'll be a lot better than Kenwright and the other stooges who invest nothing, fail in every ground move and haven't got a commercial bone in their body where Everton is concerned.

Hopefully this goes through and we can hear some solid plans from people interested in taking this club forward both on and off the pitch as opposed to a new lick of paint or blue stones around the pitch.

He was a disaster from the off. He had no right trying to get control of Everton. He didn't have the wherewithal and dragged into the fray wronguns from the outside who had no affinity with Everton and no desire to do what was best for the club.

Were hurtling towards the 16th anniversary of his takeover consortium buying Johnson out. It's been over a decade and a half of utter waste...waste of hundreds of millions of pounds from the biggest tv cash bonanza ever to hit professional sport, and we remain ensconced in a deteriorating stadium and have barely registered a net spend of £30M over the whole period. A criminal act of negligence. We cant afford to get this decision wrong again.

It's quite a serious matter to erroneously accuse someone of such behaviour. I would consider withdrawing this remark if I was you.
Agreed, was stunned by this remark

Yeah I hate trophies me, they just clutter the place up.
Agreed

I would rather be Everton ;)
Yes

The foreign markets no way near saturation point. In fact with City's announcement recently about major investment partners from a Chinese media company plus the continued growth of the game in the states it's getting access to big and hungrier markets each time the rights are up for renewal it seems. Doesn't look like it's slowing down anytime soon Steve.

Also if Monday night footballs such a loser for them why are Sky and BT pushing for an extra day of football now with Friday night games? There's plenty of mileage in this gravy train yet.
Great post Douglas, considering giving up my FT subscription if this continues

Everton takeover and BK haters go nuts. You couldn't make it up.
Makes sense that those who question the current Fuhrer would also question the incoming

Forgive me for stating the obvious, but BK has played an absolute blinder here.
After 20 years he was due one and no coincidence it involves his financial self interest rather than the club's
