No its actually true, they spent vast sums of money on utterly rubbish players, but they did spend a LOT of money.

It wasn't theirs to spend, so while they bought players and took big salaries out of the club they also had them in the bankruptcy courts fighting for survival.

Any other club bar Utd and Arsenal the banks would have foreclosed on them but they feared a backlash from supporters (their customers) and forced through a sale. There's no way of spinning them two into looking like good owners.

I wasnt talking about the end, which was brought on by the clueless kopites sending them death threats.

Loving this, people want BK out but at the same time don't want these yanks !

Priceless Kipper - sorry GoT.

I said the same a few pages back, all those not sures. What the heck do they want?

I have voted NO!

I am wary of this consortium from what I have read they are a bunch of carpet baggers. In the short term it may look beneficial to our club but long term I think there could be problems like over the park had with their owners before FSG.

It strikes me they have envisaged that a price of 200 mill in a few year could be 500 mill for a sale and that is what they are after - a killing.

So I am coming out and saying no.

DaveK alludes to other interested parties but who are they tell us what you have heard.

In reality I think there is little the fans can do to stop the sale. It is done to BK and his Ilk who can see a pot of gold awaiting them from their original share purchase price.

People will only be satisfied if the potential buyer is a Sheikh. Utterly deluded if you think we will get another city type owner. Maybe if these blokes owned us then sold us on maybe as they will have contacts especially being in the horse racing game, but Kenwright ain't business pals with some arab despot.

I'm a "Not Sure" and, like many other Blues that reflects what I've always felt about the possibility of new owners in that it'll depend on who they are and what they bring with them as a plan.

I've read a fair bit about them over the last few days and now think they're likely to be better than the current board, but, even though it's likely to make no difference to what happens, I want to see more detail as to how they want to run the club. At the moment, if I was ranking them against the current board, I'd give Kenwright, Woods and Earl 5/10 and Moores / Noell might get a 6 /10

There are obviously other interested parties and they might be better for the club than either of those. Maybe there's an 8 or 9 out of 10 out there ?

If we get into a situation where there is a definite choice for Kenwright and the board to make, it's then that the fans will be able to make their voices heard as to who they'd prefer to be running the club. I'm not naive enough to think the fans view on possible future owners would have much influence on the likes of Earl, but, if we get to a situation where multiple bids are on the table which are in the same ballpark, then the fans viewpoint might make a difference to Woods and Kenwright.

...to be sure?

Hi dave, I put an edit onto this post but it seems to have got lost.

Let me be clear I have voted against the takeover, not sitting on any fence. From what I have read I do not trust this consortium they appear to be a bunch of carpet baggers who have no real interest in our club. They are looking to buy cheap, give it a few years and sell on for 500mill thus making a nice little earner for them but that is my opinion each to his own view point.

But really what can the fans do, nothing it seems to me. They cannot stop BK and his ilk from gabbing a very nice gold pot which far exceeds the original share purchase price. I do not like what BK etc have done but I am wary of a bunch of no mark Yanks.

BTW who are the other interested parties you mention, any names?

ANY buyer other than a Saudi prince or Russian gangster looking for a hobby will be looking at us as an investment not a passion. If your unwilling to trust anyone other than Sheikh Mansours little brother then your gonna be waiting a long time for a buyer.

You think we will ever get told any details?

LOL

I just do not like the look of this lot judging from the info provided by our USA fans., okay.

It's all subjective, you could write Lerner is an awful owner but then write how he invested big money into villa which was wasted by O'Neill on dross like reo Coker, Harwood etc.
Likewise you could argue the same of Ellis Short, Mike Ashley all could be argued to be bad owners but at the same time you could argue how both have wiped off their clubs debts out their own pockets.

These ain't gonna take us to the title but they will give us a much better chance of a new stadium and money for players than the current parasites. Robert "bankrupt TWICE" Earl and Bill "haven't invested a penny in my entire tenure" Kenwright.

I'm reasonably sure we'll get some info on what sort of business model any new owners have for taking the club forward. Any offer they make is likely to have that sort of detail in it before being put to the shareholders.

It's a bit of an oversimplification, but the bottom line for me is if the club ends up with more money to spend on the squad and the academy than it would do if Kenwright stays on, then it's a good thing.

As long as it's not just a play on the effect of the increasing TV revenues, I'm not remotely arsed if the Moores / Noell consortium is looking to turn a profit in the next <n> years. So long as them making a profit on their investment results in Everton being better off than we'd otherwise be then that's fine.

No question about that but as some have said would like to see more detail. But that will not be revealed unless they decide to proceed with the takeover. Each to our own opinion.

said it earlier in the thread I think for owners such as this interested group it shows the two sides of take overs.

your rich owners who buy the club as a toy obviously pump money into the team. This lot mat not do that, but off the pitch we would be very well run. Right now it's not hard to argue we have neither so if a take over happens then I think it's more of a case of which do you prefer, a strong financial position or money pumped into the team in a short term race to improve? (second one not negative if we turned that into success)
