Lerner also charged commercial interest rates on money loaned to the club from his other businesses. He also charged them managerial charges and has turned the tap off in the last couple of years after the massive TV money hike arrived.

That's the prime reason why they now sit bottom of the table and certainties for relegation.

A cynic would say silent backers of our board are also inadvertently charging us commercial interest rates via the bridging loans to vibrac etc.

Yarda yarda

Vibrac have loaned a number of PL clubs money on a similar agreement to ours, do our board own a chunk of all of them aswell like? Baseless, lazy and inaccurate muck spreading those 'rumours'.

Fair enough, but the answer is none isn't it?

A better question is how many takeovers have actually put the club in a better position than before?

I'd guess the answers are twofold: a group buys a club in/near administration, stabilizes the club, and makes a healthy profit on sale; a oil tycoon or murderous Russian playboy buys a club and dumps oodles of cash in the club with no expectation of return.

Anyone else (of any nationality) ever buy a club and turn it around other than by the effect of random events (i.e., hiring a certain Scots manager who turned out to be decent)?

If that is so how do you explain that they are said to be worth 1.5 billion and amongst the five richest clubs.
They bought the club on a leveraged buyout, the club are still paying £50m a year to pay off their equity purchase. In addition to the £20m p.a. Glazer family salaries.

They were one of the biggest clubs on the planet before they arrived and they'll still be one of that group when they leave. Ask a United fan about their view on the Glazers mate. They've leeched off a great business nothing more.

Know that Mate but would not class it as a failure.
