Slowly build and it will all fall into place. As I recall, the great side of the 80’s was not bought in one transfer window. It was built over several years, and it was not just one group of players, there were comings and goings between the first league title and the second. Most notably Lineker who came after the first title, scored 40 goals, and we did not win title. Biggest disappointment of my life that as we were so far ahead at one point.
The point of my post and relevance to this thread is that winning a cup doesn’t or not getting relegated doesn’t mean the team is strong, but build a strong team over several years and then they can start to compete for trophies.

This has got to be the worst thread I've ever seen or a wind up. I wouldn't even batter an eyelid If we won the league Cup and stayed up its a joke competition and won't be round for much longer anyway.
