2 and 4. Disappointing end to what was overall a decent window. We've improved areas of the squad, but still have some serious holes to fill and still have some deadwood to get rid of.

I went for 4, happy.

Head was done in yesterday but besides that I think we're in good hands.
I'd rather take the evidence of bringing in Koeman and Walsh, keeping the Kak, a few new players, and plans for a new stadium, than the evidence of yesterday.

The glass is half full I think.

3. Started off well. Then linked with some top targets. It's not that we didn't come close to some top names, it's the leaving it late of targeting positions we've been needing to strengthen for a long time, near the end of the window.

Now the fume is settling I'm aware that this is Moshiri's, Koeman's and Walsh's first full season. We'll improve on last season, that I have no doubt. And I'm hopeful the leaky problems from the old regime and it's mediocrity will slowly be turned around bit by bit. We can't change anything now, let's go at this season and prove on the pitch that we're here for the fight.

Happy with our additions (mostly) because they make our squad stronger overall.

Disappointed with the obvious failure to acquire exactly what we were looking for, as made clear by the manager.

So yeah, not arsed is about right.

We have finished the window stronger than we started it but it is hard to not feel a bit underwhelmed. Some big positives:
Pedigree Name Manager
Cleared a lot of the deadwood
Squad actually look fit and not gassed after 60 mins
Squad is stronger than when the window began

Unfortunately for many though it will seem like the same old everton - negative net spend, only bringing in players after we have sold, unable to even get players to have medicals before dashing fans hopes by telling us all that they had been failed. Lack of information from the club as to who we are in for and no big named signing either permanently or on loan. I honestly don't think it would have mattered to some of the people on here who we signed as long as they were a 'name.' Someone that we can brag about saying we signed. I honestly think that most of us got carried up in a wave and just expected the blank chequebook to come out and the players to be queuing up for a payday. Maybe we have misjudged the modern day footballer and his greed or maybe they do care about success in the short term, especially the upper echelon players we allegedly targeted?

I think that most of us have been a bit naive (I include myself in this) and thought we were going to storm the transfer window and be sat here today planning our assault on the league as dark horses. It hasn't happened but unlike some on here I don't think we have been hoodwinked by the club. I think the club are in a period of transition in many ways and in the same way that our team needs improving so does everything else in the backroom that we don't see. We have been garbage at getting deals done for ages, why would things change instantly? I don't imagine that the club are particularly happy with deadline day, we just have to hope that under this regime lessons are learned unlike under our previous owners. Moshiri is I believe an astute man and will see this as an opportunity lost to make a bigger step towards the big boys in the league but it will give him an insight into the parts of the club that need overhauling. He will not have liked being taken for a fool by Sissoko and his agent and I dont think Everton will be doing any deals with that agent again anytime soon. Successful businessmen don't make the same mistakes twice.

We will make it back to the top table, it may take longer than we thought but we will get there by continuously improving all aspects of Everton Football Club, not just the moving parts we see on the pitch.

PS. Well done to whoever made the video of McGeady and got Grayson to take him for the year, whoever you are you deserve a raise and the thanks of all associated with EFC.
