I used to have a Connecticut sweetheart and she seemed fine to me. It's never really been explained to me why CT is supposed to be the worst state in New England; I suppose the antagonism's so big because the states are so small.

If you head North from I 80 there's actually some nice parts of Nebraska, built a barn there a few years ago.Kansas on the other hand.....

This must have been a while back. I40 through Arkansas is awful

IIRC, Feb of 2003. Transferring from Washington State to Connecticut, with a detour to SoCal to pick my dad up for the drive.

Overall, except for the Ok crap, it was an awesome experience and well worth doing (so much so, I did it again in 2010, but in reverse, and a week long stop in Alabama to see friends!)
