Least favourite state in the USA?

I’ve been to most every state east of Colorado (and a few west of there) and have yet to find one that is all bad. By that same token, I haven’t found any to be all good either.

i even have things I like about New Jersey (lived there) and Florida....
 


I witnessed a massive difference between the West and the South a few years ago. An employee of mine from Compton, CA (yes he was black) had to fill up his car on the company gas card in a wide spot in the road in southeastern Oregon.

Eastern Oregon is a vast space of nothing. Especially in the southern portion. He was in a 'town' of like 200 people 60 miles from a giant 'city' of like 2000 people. The biggest town for a 100 mile radius.

He filled up, but his card was not accepted by them. Technology was way too advanced for them for some reason. It was a gas card specifically meant for only fuel.

Anyway he had already filled his tank and the card was denied. This gas station was also the bar and restaurant for the town. He had a full tank, but couldn't pay for it. He called me in a panic of course. I told him I was on my way. 1 hour.

When I arrive it turns out that the woman in line behind him already paid for his gas and bought him an adult beverage just out of sheer kindness. I gave her a 50% tip out of pocket for it.

Arkansas......on the aforementioned trip across country the freeways were generally of AWFUL quality. Except Arkansas. Super smooth, comfortable roads!

I always joked that the Arkansas government was naive and actually used the Federal highway grant to fix the highway's!!

IIRC wasn't it an amalgamation? Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco wasn't it?

*Edit: Looked it up, and yes it was: Los Santos, Las Venturas and San Fierro

This must have been a while back. I40 through Arkansas is awful
