Least favourite state in the USA?

Oklahoma

So when I was in the Navy we were told, if pulled over out of state, hand over your military ID on top of your driver's license and you'll probably get some leniency.

So fast forward, I am transferring from Washington State to Connecticut via California (or posting out, for you RN types).....

I spent the night in Oklahoma City and get back on the road (I-40, for those interested) and am making great progress. It's about 11am, nobody on the freeway and I am doing about 80 in a 65. Yep I was speeding (though like I said no other cars on the road).

Crest a hill and boom, cop in the median. State police. Naturally, the game is up, so I coast down while he turns around and pursues. Lights come on, I pull over.

He approaches the car and says

"License, registration and insurance"

So I hand him, from bottom to top, registration, insurance, licence and military ID.

He looks at my ID, and haha it straight back

"I won't be needing that"

Walls back to his car, writes me the full whack ticket (which in Oklahoma is $200) comes back, hands me everything including the ticket, and says

"Good day"

And from that moment on, eff Oklahoma. (Oh, and it is full of some of the worst Trump kool-aid drinkers....... Which is just a whole lot more confirmation bias for me!!)

A courteous police officer who applied the law without prejudice. That's quite a feather in Oklahoma's cap there :p

I was born there and have lived there for a good while.

Left after high graduation. Never looked back. If it weren’t for family being there I’d never go there again.

Texas.

How can any other state come close to these clowns (might be a few surviving normal folks holding out in Austin)...

There are still a ton of real dangers living in East Texas and West Texas, but most of the cities are pretty decent now. You can tell things are changing because all the right-wing whack jobs who are desperate to hold on to power are using California as a code word as people move here from there.

Anyway, as several people have already said, the worst state is Oklahoma. Should have just let the Cherokees keep the whole thing.
