Its a great memory hey.. think most of us (especially those that live further afield) can remember when we "knew"..

I had the Shoot Annual 1984 with a pic of the Everton team holding silverwear.. double page spread.. somehow I knew by then (although I cant remember watching any footie prior to getting the mag) but I kept looking at it over and over for weeks learning the players names, but it was sealed in the 1985 FA Cup final v Man U... Best team in the country.. Man U horrible cheating bunch have a player sent off .. we still lose. Everton for life!

My other memory from that time was that Italian players were so hot and that i fell in love for the first time with one of them. His name was Giuseppe Giannini and for the longest time I thought that if I ever had a boy that I would name him Giuseppe. Thankfully for my husband we had a daughter lol


That's such a nice anecdote. Many of you here at GOT have very inspiring stories about how your love for Everton flourished. Too bad they lost that final but hopefully soon they will have the opportunity to redeem themselves and win us a trophy.

Some really good performances today, worked hard, I voted for Olson but I was impressed by Gomes, did really well in a fast paced game for someone who is supposed to be dodgy and slow and not as good as we thought.
