Just re watching the game.
Against a team that swarm all over you , put you under tremendous pressure with an incredibly hostile crowd I think we played well.
We tried to play decent football and created very good chances . With better finishing we would have won.
Not many teams will win at Elland Road.
Unfortunately I think Keane's position is becoming untenable in the short term.

Re Keane. I agree he isn't one of our 2 best CBs so shouldn't be starting most games. But we have to be realistic, he isn't going anywhere soon, not this season anyway.

I feel a bit sorry for him. I don't think he's actually played that badly over the 2 games. He had 2 brain farts over the 180 mins and was unlucky that both led to goals. The defence haven't actually conceded that many chances over the 2 games and generally played quite well.

Whether we like it or not there will be games he will have to play this season and the fans need to get behind him. Cut those errors out and he's decent.

The reason we have not conceded that many chances is because the midfield has done well, what Keane has had to do he has done badly, look at the difference Mina was against Bamford yesterday, there you have a winner and then you have Keane he is a liability and other teams will target him so he will continue to make errors

I just think many of our fans get hysterical whenever someone makes a mistake or goes through a bad patch. Reminds me of how it was on here with Pickford last season. All the good games are suddenly forgotten. And Kean has put in many top performances for us over the past 2 seasons.

I'd always have a fit Mina in ahead of him, but Keane is a capable back up for him but he does need to cut out the brainfarts

Can't agree that Keane was 'unlucky', in that any major blunder you make as a CB has a high probability of leading to an opposition goal, just as a with the GK. That's in the nature of the role, and the necessity of being reliable, first and foremost, is something these guys just have to bear. Regardless of how good someone's general play is, if they give away goals on a regular basis with their one blunder every 90, or 180, minutes, they can't stay in the team. Up to Keane to sort this out sharpish.

Blind luck that Keane gifts the opportunity yet another goal.

Their keeper also pulled off a solid save from DCL that would have killed the game off.

Fine margins when you have dossers like Coleman, Keane and Iwobi still getting on the pitch every week.
Harsh on Coleman that, he works his socks off for us week in week out, thought he played well again today. If DCL was top drawer we’re cruising at 3-1

Think Kean needs a spell in the reserves or whatever it’s called these days. Don’t put him on the bench get him playing to iron out his issues. He just seems to go into slow motion when pressed by opposing forwards. Just my opinion for what’s it’s worth. But I think a good team performance ?

Unlucky not to win that for me, if DCL takes one of the two boss chances, we stroll it in like United did against them.

Doucs and Allan were both great, driving us forward and getting stuck in, and Yerry was great on bamford, but motm for me was gray - he had a very good game.

Fair play to Benitez, I'm still not convinced by his appointment, but we look much fitter and were still running as hard as Leeds were right at the death, and were also well organised in the main - Godfrey and Yerry will be fine in this set up.

It's unfortunate that Mick Kegger is in one of his "scared of his own shadow - mentality midget" spells, which he has now and again.

I don't disagree with that but at present his position is untenable.
It doesn't matter what else you do in the game if a mistake leads directly to a goal and that's 2 in 2 games.

Well I watched that Argentine CB Martinez bought make 1 or 2 brainfarts every single game, but I can't recall any that led to an actual goal. Whereas Jags towards the end of his career seemed to get punished for every mistake. Luck does play a big part in football. Either of those chances missed and the mistake is largely forgotten about.

I agree it's up to him to cut them out though. And I wouldn't start Keane either because we have better CBs. But he's decent back up
