I'm pretty certain drugs were used by Spanish football. The destruction of blood samples was all kinds of bad.

¿Que, hombre?

But hope of identifying other athletes treated by Fuentes could be dashed by a court's decision to destroy evidence.

"Case is beyond a joke," tweeted world number three Murray.

"Why would court order blood bags to be destroyed? #coverup."

The Spanish anti-doping agency is planning to contest the court's decision to destroy 211 bags of frozen blood and plasma found when police raided the offices of Fuentes in 2006.

What provoked Murray to step outside his sport to comment on this publicly?

I forgot that Messi is the best player in the world cos he's so strong and fast, not because of his skill and ability with his feet...

Messi, Xavi, Iniesta etc played like 400 games a season and pressed and ran for 90 minutes in all of them. Righto they weren't on steroids.

If you're the barcelona owner and the best player in the world can't train cos he's got a knock or is knackered do you go a) okay we'll just do without you or b) here take this blood injection, you'll feel a lot better?

And then their levels fall off a cliff in major summer tournaments

In full agreement with you.

Nadal has fallen off a cliff since the fiasco hasn't it? Very likely it served as a warning to him to stop blood doping.

How on earth did Messi,Xavi and Iniesta end up on a Leicester thread

Surely they're not getting compared to Barcelona now

I think they're more like Kidderminster Harriers

big leap taken there, and based on bias. silly bias.

on topic, i dont mind admitting to being jealous of Leicester and not really wanting them to do it. When a shock winner of the Prem League comes along I want it to be us.

I will admit to being jealous of them but I also want them to win it. It is going to show that team spirit and desire counts for just as much (if not more) than a price tag and some fancy footwork. And good management too.

Perhaps if they do win it, it might either get Martinez to reassess his methods, or get the board to reassess the management position.

All in all its been a vital wake up call to all the less financially flush clubs that they can still compete.

I would hope that our club wouldnt be silly enough to make decisions based on what could be a one-season wonder where everything falls right for a team.

Thats not at all to disparage what they are doing, but football is full of one season wonders, most of which fall at the final hurdle but also a few who make it but disappear.

I would disagree if you are suggesting we dont have team spirit or desire.

I'm not saying we should be copying Leicester to the nth degree, but merely that it gives belief that the money clubs can be broken.

Now that less loaded point I can agree with.

..but still prefer they fall just short so that we can be the world beaters in a couple of seasons
But that goes back to my original (loaded) point somewhat. If City were to pick up and claim the title, absolutely nothing would change. We would never, ever come close to winning it.

But if Leicester win, the reverberations will be felt throughout the prem. Clubs like West Ham, Stoke and hopefully us will really believe 'look,, if they can do it, so can we!' I just genuinely believe RM does not instill that belief (not enough belief, anyway).

Absolutely not trying to derail this thread btw and I'm not as down on RM as this post may indicate.
