Leicester v Everton Thread

.....big step up for him, though. I think he was at Fleetwood, his goals went a long way to getting them into the league.

Vardy is a handful.

Vardy is a class act, the best player the Conference has seen in living memory and he didnt look out of his depth at all last season. Someone who has come up in football that way by their own merits will usually go on to be good in the Premier League.

As for Leicester, it will be a big test for us; beat teams when we are expected to is not exactly the Everton way (though it was a bit last season).

....major test next week. I'd prefer to play the promoted teams later in the season. They inevitably start quite well and then fall away.

Wy on earth do you reckon it's an easy three points ? Because they beat us in Bangkok and now it's our turn ? Or because we have been such prolific scorers in the pre season friendlies ?
you like a leicester fan or something? These results really don't make much difference to our form at the start, just about getting to full fitness so we can be boss. Remember winning like 6 pre season games in under moyes and loosing to blackburn first game, of course loosing like 4-0 every game would be shocking, but it's not been like that.

They have every right to be confident to be fair - great season last year, decent pre-season, and if they were looking at our pre-season they'd fancy it. But you'd have to imagine that if we turn up and play anywhere near like we can, we'll have too much for them, but that much is obvious.

That said, you've seen us turn over sides as the underdog on many an occasion, so we can't be complacent with the game. I don't think Martinez will be - indeed, after such a drab pre-season, I expect he'll be demanding an energetic performance to prove it meant nothing, as a poor performance in the first game would spell deep trouble for the next few we've got.

Course it's a tough game in the circumstances but it's like the Norwich fans last year all over again. Saw one of them saying that we're a mid table team with as much chance of being in a relegation battle as them, that was on twitter though.
