LOL at people blaming Martinez if fellaini gets sold. I think its clear Martinez has only been interested in McCarthy should bill and the board go back on their word from his original press conference.

Remember the one were BK promised him noone would need to be sold and the one where he promised him 'a few quid'?

Martinez distanced himself from selling the players last week when he basically said 'i dont want to sell anyone, you have a chairman and another manager who have an 11 year relationship still in weekly dialogue...i dont want to be part of it'

You wanna blame anyone for selling Fellaini and Baines...blame tear in the eye, boys pen, super blue Kenwright and his continued love in with Moyes

for the first time in 11 years...our manager has sat there and instead of cowardly backing the chairman - hes hung him out to dry! He needs applauding for that not blaming!

Moyes was a snivelling Kenwright apologist. And BK loved him for it and gave him 75k a week and pride of place up his ar5e, he was the mouthpiece to keep the fans at bay.

Martinez, a matter of weeks into his reign has just come out and said if anyone gets sold, its the chairman who has sanctioned it. Not me...HIM

And somehow...fans still blame the manager and cannot see whos fault this is?????

Look, I was a relatively new Blue when the club sold Alex Young; admittedly I was only 10 but Alex was my idol and I was in tears. But, 50 years on, the club is still here and I am still a Blue. I will still be a Blue tomorrow and will stay a Blue until the day I die.

All those years ago Young had run his course at Everton and a certain Joe Royle was coming through, but as a 10 year old that might not have registered. I remember that time well, and even worse for me was the selling of Bobby Collins, still in his prime and superb for Leeds after we sold him.That was really the first time supporters raised voices about transfers...before that, they 'just happened' I can't remember there being more than a brief whimper from supporters when Dave Hickson joined Liverpool, foe example. Coming up to date, I think in my lifetime there have maybe been only one or two transfers betwen the RS and Man Utd.......maybe its time for a similar unwritten 'policy' at Everton. No transfers to Man Utd. from now on. And none incoming either, we can do without their crocks and never going to make its.

Gives Martinez the ammo to build the side as he sees fit. 40mil + is a fair amount of money for a defensive midfielder and a left back.....we have Oviedo for Baines and possibly Bruno coming in for 11mil. McCarthy and Barry for 12,5 mil odd...

16.5mil left over....

Oviedo is not a replacement for Baines. He is nowhere near Baines level. Who is this Bruno guy?

Oveido is not ready for replacing baines yet IMO. Lescott is not really an option either. Id someone like Bertrand from Chelsea or even akotto from spurs would be good replacements. It's bit hard in a way because your never gonna find another baines.

Nobody can replace Baines in our price range mate, that's the point. If he goes, the only thing we can replace is his goals and defending. Just a thought really.

i can only admire your insight and objectivity in this matter - you nailed it there andybaker-
BK must realize the prodigal Moyes "Everton son " feels nothing for him and his club -
Moyes is squandering our inheritance - it is time for BK to support his CURRENT MANAGER instead of having an extra managerial affair with his EX-MANAGER-
Everton needs leadership showing courage and backbone if we want to survive in this dog eats dog football transfer market
