The points about the falling out with El Fraudo surely cannot be true ?. There is a very vocal poster on here who claims to have insider knowledge of the club , who states that it wasn't like that . Wasn't it all Bainsey's fault !?!.

He’s absolutely spot on about there being cliques, certainly from an outsiders POV it’s painfully obvious and it’s still going on in today’s current squad.

Feels like we haven’t had a team with great chemistry that have just clicked and worked well together since Moyes left and I know that’s one of the things he worked hard to build here and it’s no doubt an important attribute to have for a club to be successful.

All we have now is a group of mostly untalented, unambitious, individuals who aren’t really bothered (2/3 exceptions) about their performances and it shows.

That's an excellent point. It wasn't that long ago our team was littered with players who very obviously cared. Baines, Coleman, Hibbert, Osman, Arteta, Cahill, Jagielka. Their love for the club was infectious and made everyone else step up. It's incredible how much we've fallen in that respect since Moyes left.

The most telling line from that interview was when he said the difference between 'before' (when Martinez was in charge) and 'now' (when Koeman took over) was that other teams knew they were in for a fight when they came to Goodison, and that 'before' (under Martinez) it would just be down to which team played the better football.

Says it all that. Didn't want the hard work of learning how to play better football, just wanted the fans to get the team the win after the team showed 'character'. A very revealing line indeed.

This is why mentality should be one of the main attributes we look for in new players. From what I've seen and read Allan looks like the right type to bring in.
