As a lifelong fan, it must have been hard watching a fraud dismantle your club.

Sadly we as a club still haven't recovered from Martinez's shameful reign, before him we were easily the best of the rest, he came in and joined a club on the up and now look at us, on our knees while he manages some backwater International football team.

you forgot to mention the fraud also took the club for about 10m in compensation too, rich reward for him sending us backwards after two x 11th placed finishes.

Not necessarily I am happy to be subjective when deciding who I believe has achieved legendary status. Reading between the lines it's difficult to take your view on Baines as objective.

I think I've been fair here: I've stated he achieved a milestone with his amount of appearances for the club.

Hes the best LB I've seen play for the club, PVDH was a great player, but Baines edges it for me.

Ordinarily it isn't important that a player supported or played for Liverpool. Many good Everton players have. However, this feller trades on his Mr Everton "One Of Us" image...and he clearly, just a few years ago, was revelling in telling the world in FourFourTwo how much of a Liverpool fan he was at the time.

There's more than a bit of hypocrisy in that, and I think it supports the view he was duplicitous in his dealings with Martinez and the local media.

Good player in his pomp, but not a person I'd trust at all.
